California Privacy Rights Statement (CCPA and CPRA)

Effective: May 2025

Your Rights Under the CCPA/CPRA

As a California resident, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal information we have collected about you, subject to exceptions.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
  • Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not intentionally collect Sensitive Personal Information as defined by CPRA. Should that change, this statement will be updated accordingly.

Currently, users do not need to take action to limit the use of sensitive personal information, as we do not collect such data. Should we begin collecting such data in the future, users will be notified and given the opportunity to limit its use, as required under the CPRA.

Right to Non-Discrimination: You will not be discriminated against for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

Use and Sharing of Your Information

We use your personal information to provide, support, and improve our services, respond to inquiries, conduct analytics, and comply with legal obligations.

We may share your personal information with service providers for business purposes such as website analytics and communications.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We may share personal information, such as business card data (name, job title, company, email address), with carefully selected third parties for marketing or commercial purposes only when you have explicitly opted in — for example, by downloading sponsored content or registering for a sponsored webinar.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Statement and our Privacy Policy, or as required by law. Typically, we retain personal information for up to six years after you cease being a customer, as required by law.

Response Timeframe and Verification Process

We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days of receipt. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period.

To verify your request, we may ask for information that matches data we maintain about you. We cannot respond to your request if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request.

What is a verifiable consumer request?

It means that when you ask us to access, delete, or correct your personal information, we need to make sure it’s really you (or someone you’ve authorized) making the request.

This is to protect your privacy — we won’t share or change any personal information unless we’re confident the request is genuine.

We may ask for some identifying information (like your email address or details about your interaction with us) to confirm your identity before we act on your request.

If you’re making a request through an authorised agent, we may also need proof that you’ve given them permission to act on your behalf.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of your CCPA rights, including your right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, you may contact us by:

  • Email: readerservices@situationpublishing.com
  • Mail: Situation Publishing Ltd Inc, 447 Suter Street Ste 405 #1091, San Francisco, CA 94108

You may make a request up to twice within a 12-month period.

Authorized Agent

You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. The authorized agent must provide proof of your written permission and must separately verify their own identity. We may require you to verify your identity directly with us.
