MCubed: Keynote speakers ask the really big issues on AI

AI has a habit of forcing even the most blinkered techie to ask themselves some of the big questions: what is intelligence; and if a machine is more intelligence, shouldn’t it be in charge.

Two of AI’s most distinguished thinkers, Dr Joanna Bryson and Prof. Dagmar Monett-Diaz, considered just those issues in their keynotes at MCubed last week.

In both cases, it was the perfect way to kick off the day, before the crowd split across the three streams of conference talks to dive deep in key technologies, hear how other organisaations are putting machine learning and AI to work, and consider ethical issues such as privacy and bias.

You can watch both keynotes below, and watch more sessions from the conference over at our YouTube channel here. It’s almost like being there – except for the opportunity to catch up with our speakers one to one, as well as communing with like-minded technies working through the same challenges as you. Still, there’s always next year…
